Slot about Salah in the reserves: Liverpool looked vulnerable, I tried to find solutions. Liverpool manager Arne Slot has explained why Mohamed Salah has been left on the bench for the last three matches.
Today it became known that the Egyptian winger was not included in the English team`s squad for the game against Inter in the 6th round of the general stage of the Champions League. I tried to find solutions because that`s my job. We tried different things and after everything I tried against Nottingham Forest (0-3) and PSV (1-4), we looked very vulnerable.
I decided to respond to this with an extra midfielder in the 2-0 win against West Ham. We won the match so I decided to do it again against Sunderland (1-1).
At half-time I released him [Salah]. Then against Leeds (3-3) we played against a 5-3-2 formation and I decided to play a 4-4-2 diamond formation, so to speak, with Yugo Ekitike a little to the right, Cody Gakpo a little to the left and Florian Wirtz in between.
I could have put Mo on the right, but I decided to put Yugo, " Slot said at the press conference.
